Travel-Related Movies For Solo Travel, Backpacking, Nomads & Explorers

With so many of us being unable to travel right now, it can be hard to keep the wanderlust alive. I mean, there is only so much future holiday planning you can do. I also know there is only so much scrolling on Netflix, or other movie sites, you can do before you give up in despair. That’s why I’ve decided to create a little list of travel-related movies for anyone missing the great outdoors. Next time you catch yourself searching flights you can’t book right now, why not try one of these movies to get your travel-fix instead? It’s the next best thing. Everyone has different movie preferences so I’ve added a variety of genres below. Enjoy!

  • Vacation (2015) for comedy.
  • The Terminal (2004) for romance and comedy.
  • The Inbetweeners Movie (2011) for comedy.
  • The Hangover (1,2,3) for comedy.
  • Lion (2016) for child-friendly drama.
  • Rio (2011) for child-friendly adventure.
  • Catch Me If You Can (2002) for crime and drama.
  • The Tourist (2010) for romance and drama.
  • Afflicted (2013) for horror.
  • Hostel (2005) for horror. *A few trigger warnings on this movie.
  • The Toybox (2018) for horror.
  • The Butterfly Effect (2004) for thriller.
  • Gone (2007) for thriller.
  • Green Book (2018) for true story.

How many of these have you seen? If you have any other travel-related movies then feel free to drop them in the comments!

See you in the next post!

Zindagi na Milegi Dobara is a Bollywood movie, which is based on, “there’s only one life live it” theme. You must see this to feel the sense of travel even when not traveling outside the country.

Imagine watching Hostel right before a vacation. πŸ™ˆπŸ˜‚

‘Mission Impossible: Ghost protocol’ and ‘Knight and Day’! Also, ‘Queen’ which is a bollywood movie. A girl who grows up in a sheltered, conservative family in India gets dumped by her fiance a day before their wedding. To get away from her grief she decides to go on their honeymoon (Paris & Amsterdam) alone. It’s such a beautiful movie.
